Viceroy Mayakoba Construction Update, Winter 2007

Viceroy Riviera Maya is now under construction.  The site is abuzz with hundreds of site engineers, contractors, and other tradespeople.  Over the course of the next few months, that number will grow to over 800 workers on the site daily.

We are well on our way to completing grading and excavation across both the inland and beach parcels.  At the beach, we have completed structural backfill and laid the foundations for the front row of buildings, from the Beach Club all the way down to the Celebrity Suite. For the inland parcels, we are finishing site grading and dirt movement to begin pouring foundations shortly.

At our Central Energy Plant, we have begun excavation for the cisterns that will store treated, potable water for the resort. The site for the Inland Restaurant and pool area is very nearly complete, with the various levels and terraces having been carved into the existing terrain in order to engage the signature canals more directly with our dining and recreation offerings.

As we have sold nearly $70 million in real estate to date and are past where we had hoped to be in terms of construction milestones, we are making a limited amount of additional homes available for sale this fall.  Specifically, we will be offering a small collection of Lagoon Villas and select Beachfront Residences for purchase. We would like to share any new information about them, with you, your friends, or family at your earliest request.

As you plan your winter schedule, please contact me to schedule a personal update when you next find yourself in the Riviera Maya.  We look forward to welcoming you to our new 5th street Gallery in downtown Playa del Carmen, or our new Kor Mexico Gallery at the Tides Riviera Maya Hotel.

In the meantime, enjoy these recent photographs of the Viceroy Mayakoba site as it rises.

With best wishes,
